| Athletics At CMCA, we believe that the opportunity for participation in a variety of athletic and activities programs is a vital part of a student’s educational experiences. Such participation is a privilege that carries with it responsibilities to the school, the activity, other students, and the athletes themselves. The CMCA athletic and activities programs, a supplement to the school’s academically rigorous curriculum, strives to provide experiences that will help students develop physically, mentally, socially and emotionally. Our coaches support The Vanguard School’s commitment to character education. Coaches will capitalize on teaching moments and integrate character education through their example and verbal reinforcements. The Vanguard School has been a CHSAA (Colorado High School Activities Association) member since January 2008 and we are a Class 2A school, competing in the Black Forest League (BFL). Click on one of the links at the left for information on what is offered for the K-6, Junior High and High School programs. Scheduled events will be published on our Athletics Calendar as they become available for each sports team, including game/meet dates, opponents, times and transportation information. "Home" sporting events take place at either the Corona Campus (for Grades 7-12) or Wahsatch Campus (for Grades 5-6). Information on tickets and pricing for all HOME Volleyball and Basketball contests (held at the Corona Campus) can be found by visiting our Vanguard Booster Club Web page and scrolling to the bottom of that page. Tickets can be purchased for individual games or you may elect to secure season passes, which are offered for entire families, students, and seniors/extended family members, covering ALL HOME Volleyball and Basketball games for the entire season! The Vanguard youth intramural basketball league is a time of inspiration and perspiration for young athletes!
 Games and practices will be coached by Vanguard High School basketball players and supervised by the coaches. This creates a fun, positive and challenging experience for young players that is second to none. Players will receive individual fundamental skill instruction along with team-oriented concepts that emphasize good sportsmanship, work ethic and team spirit. The Staff The coaching staff will be made up of coaches from The Vanguard School (High School) girls' basketball team. The league promises to be fun and competitive. High school coaches will supervise all practices and referee all games. League Schedule - Boys: August 30-September 24, 2010 - Girls: September 27-October 22, 2010 There will be one practice each week after school for about 45 minutes. Games will be scheduled on Friday afternoons after school. Game duration is 6-minute quarters with a running clock. Eligiblity The league is open to all boys and girls entering Grades 3 and 4 in the Fall of 2010. Enrollment Complete the league enrollment form on the brochure and enclose with payment to secure a spot in the league. CAR WASH! Basketball Program Fundraiser This Saturday, August 21, 2010, basketball players will be hosting a car wash, located at the Corona campus, upper parking lot, adjacent to the Grade 5-6 building. Times for the car wash are 9:00 AM-2:00 PM. Car wash coupons will be sold for just $5.00. If you've already purchased a coupon from Mandatory Show Days before school started, those can be redeemed at this car wash.
