Dear Friends of Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy,
As you almost certainly know, our current tough economic times have affected nearly every entity in Colorado, including schools. In fact, in an attempt to balance the budget, the Colorado State Legislature and Governor Ritter last month removed $110 million from current school budgets. Notice the word current. This means that education dollars will be removed from school budgets that have already been approved. The net effect of this decision is that revenue for Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy and The Vanguard School has been reduced by nearly $160,000 from what was projected.
As a result of this reduction, we are asking our families and friends to consider making a tax-free donation to Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy between now and May 1st. Specifically, I’m requesting that each family commit $100 per child attending CMCA. The school recognizes that some families might not be able to make a donation of that amount, or of any amount. If you are unable to donate $100, please consider a lesser amount. Every donation helps. Perhaps some families might consider donating more on behalf of another family. There is no limit, and ANY amount will help the school.
