| Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy (Grades K-8) Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy is proud to be a "core knowledge" institution. The E. D. Hirsch Core Knowledge® Series will provide the scope and sequence in the basic disciplines. The Core Knowledge approach to American history is inclusive, teaching that while Americans have many different national and racial origins, we have a common culture and common values which bind us as a nation. It affirms the characteristics of American government and society that are admirable while not ignoring the darker aspects of American history. The Core Knowledge Curriculum will be complemented by Direct Instruction Reading, Math and Spelling. The Vanguard School (Grades 9-12) The Vanguard School is proud to build upon its "core knowledge" foundation from grades K-8. Excellence is our Standard
The Vanguard School, our high school, has been ranked #1 in the state according to the Colorado Department of Education. Cited as "Best of the Springs" by The Gazette in May 2008. Students' Iowa Tests of Basic Skills scores have placed CMCA in the 99th percentile (top 1%) of the nation academically since 1999. John Irwin School of Excellence awarded by Colorado Department of Education (1999-2006) 93-98% of parents very satisfied or satisfied with CMCA each year of the BAAAC (Building Accreditation, Accountability Advisory Committee) survey Named one of the Center for Education Reform's Best Bets; a distinction given to 100 of the nation's 3,000 schools of choice. |
