PTO Uniform "Closet Sale"

Do you have uniform items to sell, or are you in need of uniform items for your child(ren)??

CMCA PTO is sponsoring a "Closet Sale," available for families to re-sell and buy gently-used uniform clothing items. The sale will be held on Friday, September 10, 2010 from 1:00-2:00 PM in the Conference Room at the Wahsatch Campus (1832 S. Wahsatch Avenue).

Here are the details when selling items:
  • Each item must be tagged with your carpool number on the front of the tag, and the size and price written on the back of the tag. Tags are available at the Grade K-4 front desk.
  • Clothes can be dropped off at the Wahsatch campus front office. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope labeled with your carpool number and a signed consigner’s agreement. Consigner’s agreements are located in the flier display near the Wahsatch campus front office.
  • PTO will mail checks for proceeds at the end of each semester.
Prices charged at the sale are determined by the item and the brand label on the item (either Lands' End or another brand). Here's a price list breakdown:

Lands' End Items:
- Pants: $8.00
- Shorts: $8.00
- Jumpers: $10.00
- Shirts: $5.00
- Sweaters: $10.00

Other Brands:
- Pants: $5.00
- Shorts: $5.00
- Jumpers: $5.00
- Shirts: $3.00

Cash or checks ONLY will be accepted for purchases.

Order Your 2010-2011 Yearbook Today!Sales for The Vanguard School yearbooks for the 2010-2011 school year will begin soon!  Online ordering of the yearbooks will be available through the Website "Classscene.com" with a dedicated area for Vanguard School families.

The price of the yearbooks is $45.00 if purchased before Christmas 2010, or $55.00 if purchased after Christmas 2010.

3rd & 4th Grade Basketball Leagues

The Vanguard youth intramural basketball league is a time of inspiration and perspiration for young athletes!

Games and practices will be coached by Vanguard High School basketball players and supervised by the coaches.  This creates a fun, positive and challenging experience for young players that is second to none. 

Players will receive individual fundamental skill instruction along with team-oriented concepts that emphasize good sportsmanship, work ethic and team spirit.

The Staff
The coaching staff will be made up of coaches from The Vanguard School (High School) girls' basketball team.  The league promises to be fun and competitive.  High school coaches will supervise all practices and referee all games.

League Schedule
- Boys: August 30-September 24, 2010
- Girls: September 27-October 22, 2010

There will be one practice each week after school for about 45 minutes.  Games will be scheduled on Friday afternoons after school.  Game duration is 6-minute quarters with a running clock.

Eligiblity
The league is open to all boys and girls entering Grades 3 and 4 in the Fall of 2010.

Enrollment
Complete the league enrollment form on the brochure and enclose with payment to secure a spot in the league.  Information on the brochure and forms can be obtained by contacting Mrs. Pam Russell by E-Mail at pam.russell@cmca12.com.  checks can be made payable to "The Vanguard School" and dropped off or mailed with enrollment form to the front office at The Vanguard School or CMCA.  The mailing address is:

September 2010 Lunch Menus Posted

The menus for lunches at CMCA's and The Vanguard School's Corona Campus for September 2010 have been posted to the CMCA-TVS Web site.

We contract with Colorado Springs School District 11 to provide a variety of nutritious hot and cold lunch options for our 5th through 12th grade students.

Lunch menus are posted on the CMCA-TVS Web site as they become available each month. There are separate menus posted for Grades 5-6, and Grades 7-12.  You can download the menus to your computer and save them for viewing or print copies to hang on your refrigerator!  Additionally, paper copies of menus for 5th and 6th graders are sent home in the students' Friday Folders, and paper copies of menus for 7th through 12th graders will be posted in The Vanguard School Cafetorium.

Next Board Meeting: September 28, 2010

The next monthly meeting for the CMCA Board of Directors is now scheduled for Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 6:00 PM.  The meeting is held at The Vanguard School Library.

**NOTE: This meeting will serve as the October 2010 monthly meeting...there will be NO Board meeting in October 2010.

The meeting agenda is typically posted at least 24 hours in advance of a scheduled meeting at the front offices of all campus buildings and on the Board of Directors page for public viewing.
